Contrary to speculations that Pawar married his long-time boyfriend, the actor revealed that it was an arranged marriage and not love. “It’s not true,” she says to speculation, “it’s an arranged marriage. I didn’t expect that I would have an arranged marriage. We met on a matrimonial site. We started talking in January and it was a six-month courtship.”

An actor’s arranged marriage is not something we hear often. Pawar admits that “it was scary,” but her first conversation with her now-husband Neil Patil, a biomedical engineer, made things easier for her. “I was comfortable with Neil, but a marriage is not just two people, but two families. it was scary. I had doubts whether they would accept my career (as an actor). Although his family supports him. In fact, she is proud that I am working in the Marathi industry,” she clarifies.

Talking about her husband, Pawar says, “He is very innocent. Rare in this generation. I have seen his behavior towards his family and he is very attached to his family and very emotional. I was looking for that quality in my partner.”
